Fine orange-brown clay; lustrous black gloss all over except resting surface, red washed. Low bowl-shaped body, curving in sharply at top; broad neck, flaring at top, with overhanging rim. Narrow foot, with slight stem above a heavy moulded base, comprising a lower torus moulding with smaller step above. Narrow sloping resting-surface, hemispherical cavity underneath. Two angular vertical handles with triangular cross-section attached at bottom of bowl connecting to rim level with flat tapering spurs projecting horizontally from rim. On the floor, four small stamped palmettes clustered around center, surrounded by nine lines of fine rouletting. Body accurately mended. H. 2.9″ (7.4 cm).
