Gold and glass mount

last quarter of IV-beginning of V century

Oval flat blue glass framed by gold wall and wide gold band consisting of four concentric rows: fine granulation along the perimeter flanking two twisted wires, placed next to each other in opposite direction, forming a “braid”. Silver backing plate. Iridescent glass surface. 30 x 25 x 4 mm.
