Late Roman C Ware Dish with Combed Rosette

Late 4th–first half of the 5th century A.D.
Orange fabric with a dark red-orange slip of metallic sheen covering the entire surface except for the exterior of the base.
Shallow, curved body with a broad flaring rim. Flat base, hollowed on the underside to form a false foot. The interior floor is decorated with a radiating combed rosette composed of groups of fine curved parallel lines surrounding a slightly raised circular center.
Intact, with several chips. Lime deposits.
Height: 1.3 in. (3.3 cm). Diameter: 8.1 in. (20.6 cm).
